Report of RVA Club/Individual Visits
The management of Radio Veritas Asia Urdu Service sent its Reception Monitor (Mr. Hadayat Nazar) to visit a number of listeners living in different areas of the Provinces of NWFP & Punjab. He started the visit programme from the Northern Pakistan – Murree and continued to the Central Punjab – Khanewal.First Mr. Hadayat participated in a programme arranged by the management of "Zindgi Kay Sang" (FEBA Radio) and had short meetings with the listeners who were present there for the programme. From there, he went to Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Solangi (Islamabad) on 18th June 2008. Basically, Mr. Zahoor is from Distt. Khairpur (Sindh). He is a student of MBA and is busy in his studies. He started listening to the RVA Urdu Service in 1992 and regularly kept in touch with it till 1997. Then he started focusing on his studies. The good fact is that these days he has again started listening to the RVA Urdu Service. He has also created a Radio Forum on the Internet and through that he is playing an active role amongst the listeners of different radio stations. The link of his radio forum iswww.dxingworld.info/forum During the discussions, Mr. Zahoor gave these suggestions:a. RVA Urdu Service must provide the facility of listening to its programmes on the Internet.b. The management must provide audio recordings of the programmes to those who do not have time or access to the live radio service.c. The programmes must be given on the topics like Information Technology, Computer Education, Technical and Scientific Aspects of Education. d. The must be a weekly programme for the children and youth.The same night Mr. Hadayat started his journey to Dera Ismael Khan in order to visit Mr. Liaqat Ali Awan and his club members. He reached Dera Ismael Khan the next morning. He stayed at Mr. Awan's till evening. He met the members of Al-Awan Listeners Club and some other listeners as well. He held detailed meetings with them, in which they talked about the programmes, reception quality, promoting the RVA among other listeners and about the future planning. At night he started his journey back to Lahore.Two days later, Mr. Hadayat went to visit Short Wave Listeners' Club at Sheikhupura. There he met the club members and had discussions with them on and about almost all relevant issues. It was an encouraging factor that Mr. Liaqat Ali Awan, Mr. Shehzad Azeemi and Mr. were also there in the meeting. Added to this even the female listeners from the Short Wave Listeners' Club were also met Mr. Hadayat and shared their feedback about the programmes. On the 5th of July 2008, Mr. Hadayat went to visit the club members of Muhammadi Radio Listeners Club at Chicha Watni (Distt: Sahiwal). He reached there in the evening and had detailed meeting with the President of the Muhammadi Club. He stayed there for the night and listened to evening and morning broadcasts with them. They were very happy to have someone from the management of RVA Urdu Service to visiting them and encouraging their contribution towards the RVA Urdu Service.The next morning at 11:00 a.m., the Reception Monitor went to Mr. Chishti at Khanewal and had a meeting with Mr. Chishti. His feedback about the programmes of the RVA Urdu Service was very positive. He and his friends were very happy about the initiative taken by the management of RVA Urdu Service by visiting the listeners belong todifferent areas of the country. He also pin-pointed, that the reception quality sometimes is poor.The same day Mr. Hadayat went to Jhang and visited a number of listeners. He had detailed meetings with them. It was also pin- pointed that the reception quality is poor in Jhang. On the way back to Gojra, Mr. Hadayat listened to the evening broadcast of RVA Urdu Service. He observed that the reception quality was not so bad.The next morning, Mr. Hadayat went to the listeners at Nankana Sahib.
