Cooperation by Turkish media to help Pakistan improve its image in the world,Dr Firdous

ISLAMABAD: Federal minister Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday cooperation by Turkish media would help Pakistan improve its image in Europe and other parts of the world. The information minister who is currently visiting Turkey hailed the agreement signed today between the Associated Press of Pakistan and Anadolu Agency of Turkey for enhancing media cooperation between the news agencies of the two countries.She said the agreement was very significant since it would greatly help raise the image of Pakistan in the international community . Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan while talking to Pakistan Television said that Turkish media could help introduce Pakistan as an “enlightened moderate society” to Europe and international community. Dr. Firdous said that Turkey would assist personnel of Pakistan Television pursue short courses in its institutions.

The minister said that a proposal has been submitted to Turkey for setting up bureau offices of its media institutions in Pakistan.
She said this would prove significant for strengthening relations in the media sectors beeen the two countries .
She called for improving the capacity of Pakistan’s information institutions including Television, Radio and Associated Press of Pakistan.
She said discussions had been held for the purpose of the Pakistan Television (PTV), Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) and Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) with modern equipment and tools, besides introducing short courses and imparting technical training.
